For Season 2 of Insecure, I approached the aesthetic of our campaign materials to be reminiscent of LA street culture. My biggest influences included the iconic gradient-filled prints from Colby Printing Co. and bold, brutalist type being used by streetwear brands in the recent year. In combining these choices, my main goal was to elevate the strong, female voice of Issa Rae to resonate with all members of the show's audience. This typographic style and thinking has carried over into promotional pieces for Season 3 with the introduction of 90s pop culture and hip hop references.
